Services

Individual therapy can be paid for privately or through healthcare insurance depending on whether your healthcare insurance provider covers registered clinical counselling.  Before booking please check your benefit plan with your healthcare insurance provider to determine what you qualify for.  Direct billing and reimbursement may be available depending on the type of plan you have.

This type of individual therapy specifically focuses on grief - anticipatory/normalized/complex, and helps the individual work through their loss and bereavement.  Your counsellor can help you process the tasks of mourning, cope with grief, and practice integrating the bereavement.  As with individual therapy, grief therapy can be paid for privately or through healthcare insurance depending on whether your healthcare insurance provider covers registered clinical counselling.  Please check with your benefit plan before booking.

The focus of couples counselling is to help individuals work through negative blocks in communiation/behaviour patterns that are causing conflict between the couple. Topics commonly covered include: interpersonal effectiveness, conflict resolution, and how to practice reflective listening.

First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) counselling is funded fully via the FNHA.  If you wish to apply for funding you will need a FNHA status number.  Please contact me for more information regarding how to apply.  The funding approval process is very quick, and once approved, your first session can be booked.  FNHA counselling provides up to twenty-two counselling sessions through the Mental Wellness and Counselling (MW&C) program.

Crime Victims Assistance Program (CVAP) counselling is fully funded by the CVAP.  To apply for this funding you will need to contact the CVAP and apply for approval.  Upon approval you will be given a claim number, and can then book an appointment.  The CVAP usually approves thirty-six sessions for children, and forty-eight sessions for adults.  They may also provide up to twelve interim sessions while your application is being processed.

ICBC Counselling is covered by the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC).  In order to access this counselling you will need a claim number first.  Please contact ICBC for further information about obtaining a claim number.

The focus of this counselling, in line with ICBC philosophy, is to help rehabilitate your mental health following vehicle accidents.
